PROJECT 021: Building regional border control capacity to identify and detect CRN materials

Context

This project aims to develop knowledge transfer and share best practices for CRN detection that will enhance the CRN national safety and security capacity at borders.

Objectives

1. Develop and strengthen national border control capacity by improving the understanding of CRN materials and raising awareness of the risk posed by such materials if they are not interdicted and properly managed and handled by national authorities at borders (land, sea and air).

2. Foster inter-agency regional cooperation between national border control authorities and promote synergies between counterparts.

This project is part of a pre-existing EU activity in the regions and has not resulted from the submission of a CoE project proposal. Due to the different origin of the project, not all countries involved are CoE partner countries.
