Project 063: Provision of specialized CBRN equipment for the training of personnel in charge of border control in North Africa and Sahel

Context

While the movement of goods and people is constantly increasing, the risks posed by the CBRN threat are becoming more significant in the Sahelo-Saharan region. At the crossroads of traditional trade routes of various kinds, the Sahel and Sahara regions are a major strategic issue. The porosity of certain borders and the use of goods or raw materials that may represent a CBRN risk can therefore create a risky situation.

Project 63, which is a follow-up of Project 55, aims therefore to provide specialized equipment for training personnel for border control.

Overall objective

To provide specialized equipment for training personnel for border control in order to achieve standardization of legislative texts relating to CBRN security according to international standards on a regional basis.

Activities

Delivery, unloading, installation, commissioning, maintenance, training, after-sales service, of the following supplies 6 batches of equipment dedicated to CBRN preparedness and response, in the following categories:

  • Specific personal protective equipment (PPE) for CBRN agents (protective units and masks, gas masks, protective eyewear, gloves, boots, etc.)
  • Decontamination goods;
  • Absorption and mitigation items;
  • Chemical, radiation and biological detection and identification means, and sampling kits.
