Description

The Handbook is a guiding document describing the several implications that the multidimensional problem of hazardous waste management entails. The reader will approach not only the knowledge of technical procedures for the management of hazardous waste, but also the basics for understanding the legal framework that regulates the issue as well as the security implications of the problem.

The guide can be profitably read by public health managers and policy-makers, hospital managers, environmental health professionals, and all administrators with an interest in and responsibility for waste management. Beside these professionals that may benefit from learning the basics of waste management, this guide is designed to help laboratory supervisors and personnel classify and dispose of waste safely and in compliance with international standards.
