
The CBRN CoE Regional Secretariat for the Central Asia region is located in Tashkent, Uzbekistan at The State Committee on Industrial Safety.
The Secretariat plays a major role in helping achieve the objectives of the CBRN CoE through ensuring a good level of cooperation and coordination among the six Partner Countries. The Regional Secretariat also provides support with the engagement of regional and international technical partners, potential donors and other stakeholders in the area of CBRN risk mitigation. It contributes to build local ownership and to a greater sustainability of the CBRN CoE network.

Since 2013, the region participated in 13 projects, 4 of which were implemented in 2021:
- P87 PRECA- Preparedness and Response for Mass Gatherings and other Health Threats in Central Asia
- P76 STRONGLABS - Preventing biological risks increased by environmental and climate change by strengthening Public Health Laboratories
- P53 - Strengthening the National Legal Framework and Provision of Specialized Training on Biosafety and Biosecurity in Central Asian Countries
- Kazakhstan joined the Centres of Excellence Initiative in November 2020
- Regional CBRN Action Plan for Central Asia have been developed
- 14 Regional Round-Table meetings have been organised between 2013 and 2021
- Regional CBRN Action Plan for Central Asia has been developed in 2020
- 17 Regional Round-Table meetings have been organised between 2013 and 2022
- 3 Regional Virtual meetings on COVID-19 needs and priorities and 6 inter regional webinars have been organised in 2020
- 8 International Meetings of National Focal Points were held between 2013 and 2022
- On-going Cooperation with main international (UNSC 1540 Committee, UNDP, UNODA, IAEA, INTERPOL, OPCW, ISTC, WHO), regional (OSCE, EU Delegations) and national stakeholders, US DoD DTRA, “M. Aikimbayev’s National Scientific Center for Especially Dangerous Infections” in
