The leaflet titled "EU CBRN Centres of Excellence activities in GCC and the response to the COVID-19 Pandemic" has been released online.
It aims to highlight the achievements of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries during the particular period of the pandemic, ranging from online activities to measures taken to fight the contagion, and presenting a short summary of the Region's background.
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries first joined the EU CBRN Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence Initiative (EU CBRN CoE) in 2014 with the inauguration of the EU CBRN CoE Regional Secretariat in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and the joining of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Since its launch, the Initiative has expanded to include Kuwait and Bahrain and talks are ongoing with the Sultanate of Oman to cover the whole region.
