Context

The overall objective of this project is to support the development of a structured, integrated and sustainable collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Agriculture in Pakistan for improved risk assessments and detection, prevention and control of the spread of emerging zoonotic diseases.

Objectives

Specific objective 1: Develop early detection and response capacities through the mapping and scaling up of diagnostic capacities in Pakistan
Specific objective 2: Ensure the sharing of laboratory-based surveillance information between the central and provincial levels and between human and animal health sectors
Specific objective 3: Improve collaboration between human health and animal health sector and strengthened detection and response capacities for zoonotic diseases and other threats at the human- animal interface.

This project is part of a pre-existing EU activity in the regions and has not resulted from the submission of a CoE project proposal. Due to the different origin of the project, not all countries involved are CoE partner countries.
